Makeup Compact
It was invented in the early 1900's, when makeup was being concealed in hatpins, walking sticks, etc. Sears was the first to advertise this cute and newly innovative way to store makeup powder. Compacts were heavily influenced by prevailing fashions. As make-up became more mainstream and women were increasingly active outside the home, compacts became more popular.
RAINCOAT
The first modern raincoat was documented in 1824 in Scottland. It was also known as a Mackintosh, after the inventor Charles Macintosh. It was more rubbish than it is today, but it was the first of its kind.
THE MODERN DAY BRA
Women have used different variations of this garment to cover, restrain, reveal, or modifiy the appearance of their breasts. By 1930s bras had replaced corsets and mainly European and American women were the first to wear this modern undergarment.
